This post put a smile on my face… Why? I used to live in Marsiling and nearby the Woodlands Jetty, from 1981 to 1995. One of the happiest childhood moments was spent at the beach. We also discovered the Marsiling Dungeons (way before the mainstream bloggers did). Anyway… fond memories…i used to buy fruits from the fruit stall/provision shop just next to the Rotterdam gate. I remember there was a small sentry post just beside the gate….Further down the road.. there was this gate with abandoned barracks/warehouse inside. I saw the map and immediately reconcilled them to be RAF stores.. (now it makes sense). It was abandoned and were being used for drug addicts..satanic rituals…graffitii all over the face…. Interesting Fact: The store was actually being used by a company for the storage of their plastic chairs. They even build a temp. guard post (equipped with air con) near the gate. Somehow,..mysteriously….they just disappeared few mths later..they did not even take their chairs from the stores…

    I wish i had a camera back then… i wish..

    • Thanks for sharing, Mr. Eddy. I ought to return to have a look at the place again (with a camera). Haven’t visited for a year or two. Things change so fast in Singapore, you know. ~ Hun Ping
